How we test

We buy our own products, test them in real conditions, and score them on the same criteria every time. No free samples steering our scores, no pay-to-play, no fake codes.

Our promise

PrimeVouch exists to answer one question honestly: is this worth your money? To do that credibly, we follow three hard rules. We buy our own test units at retail whenever possible, so no brand can influence a score by controlling what we receive. We never sell placement — a brand cannot pay to rank higher or to soften a review. And we disclose how we make money: we may earn an affiliate commission when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you, and that commission never changes our verdict.

The process

1

Research the field

We map the category — the popular options, the sleeper picks, and what real buyers actually complain about — so we test the things that matter to you.

2

Buy the products

We purchase units ourselves at retail where we can. Owning what we test keeps us honest and lets us live with a product long enough to find its real flaws.

3

Test in real conditions

We use each product the way you would — across days or weeks — and run consistent hands-on tests so results are comparable within a category.

4

Score on fixed criteria

Every product in a category is judged against the same weighted criteria, so a 9.0 means the same thing from one review to the next.

5

Write it straight

We publish the good and the bad, name a clear pick, and say who each product is — and is not — for. If we would not spend our own money on it, we say so.

6

Re-test as things change

Products get new versions and prices shift. We revisit reviews and update scores so recommendations stay current, not frozen in time.

How we score

Scores run 0–10 and are built from category-specific, weighted criteria. The exact weights vary by product type, but they always come down to four questions:

Does it work? Real-world performance on the core job, tested consistently.
Is it worth the money? Performance relative to price, not just raw quality.
Who is it for? Fit for different needs, body types, budgets, and use cases.
Would we buy it? The honest gut-check — would we spend our own money here?

Our independence

PrimeVouch is reader-supported. We may earn a commission when you buy through links on our site, at no extra cost to you — that is how we fund the testing. Crucially, commissions and brand relationships never influence a score or a verdict. We recommend the best product for you, not the one that pays us most. See our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy for details.
